The wide open space of Elbel field is great for kite flying, as well as sunbathing and studying. In the Spring and Fall, softball games are common. The stands on the north side of the field face toward the parking lot, not the field. They are filled with spectators watching the Marching Band rehearse weekday evenings and on Football Saturday mornings.
