| Just west of the peony garden is the Washington Heights entrance to the Arboretum. This is just a few yards from Mary Markley Hall and the rest of the hill area dorms, and around the corner from the Medical Campus and a section of the University's familiy housing areas. While the gate is opened only for official vehicles, the narrow pedestrian gap next to it, like all other entrances to the Arb, is never closed.
