| When I was younger, Monroe Street stretched from South Quad all the way to East University and East Quad. More recently, the University planners closed Monroe Street between Tappan and East University and made it into a walking plaza. The plaza now separates Lorch Hall and the School of Education (on the north) from the Business School's buildings (on the south). This flowerbed is located at the intersection of the older north-south and newer east-west paths.
