I spent many hours as a young boy playing in the lounges on the south side of the School of Education building, while my parents registered for classes or met with their advisors. (They both received PhDs from the School of Education.) At that time, this was the front of the building, facing Monroe Street and a gravel parking lot bordered by older homes. A lot has changed. Still, the interior marble walls, tile floors, tall draperies, wood paneling, and the huge stone drinking fountain inside the main entrance remind me of that time, even when I'm there on business. |
