The most familiar landmark to anyone at the University of Michigan is the
Burton Bell Tower.
The Bell Tower is visible from most parts of town (and for miles around!),
and it houses the
Charles Baird
Carillon, as well as four conveniently-placed clock faces. The Bell Tower is located just off Ingalls Mall, a strip of land that stretches from north to south between the Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies building and the Harlan Hatcher Graduate Library. Also bordering the mall are the Modern Language Building (MLB), the Alumni Center, the Michigan League, Hill Auditorium, the Natural Sciences Building (NatSci), and the Chemistry Building.
