Espresso Royale Caffe was one of the first of the new breed of coffee houses in Ann Arbor. Now, having driven out the ice cream and yogurt shops, block by block the coffee houses are staking out their territories. There are now four branches of the Espresso Royale Caffe, from State and Packard to Bonisteel Boulevard. Students come here to see and be seen, to munch on a croissant or biscotti, and to sip their double cappuccinos while pretending to study
