Fans pour into the stadium via gates spaced at regular intervals around the structure. Michigan Stadium is nestled in a large bowl at the top of a hill, with the majority of the seats inside the bowl below ground level. The original stadium had seating only on the inside walls of the bowl. Since then, an upper deck has been added, providing significantly more seating above the level of the entrances.
