The easiest way to return to the center of North Campus is through the EECS atrium. The atrium extended through the entire building from east to west. Directly north of the EECS building, the G. G. Brown laboratory houses the Mechanical Engineering department. EECS is a huge classroom, office, and laboratory facility. In addition to faculty and staff offices, classrooms, and auditoriums, it also contains two cleanroom facilities where microchip fabrication processes can be explored.
