During the Summer of 1996, three major new facilities were completed on North Campus, radically changing the look and feel of the entire area. The Ann and Robert H. Lurie Tower houses the University's second carrilon, among the finest in the world. The nearby Media Union is the largest building on campus, housing an innovative "library of the future", designed to facilitate a high degree of collaboration between the engineering, music, art, and architecture disciplines on North Campus, as well as those represented by other schools and colleges throughout the University.
