Our Travels
Lee lived in Ann Arbor from 1986 to 1999. It's a vibrant and culturally-diverse
city, with a near-ideal mix of a small-town's friendliness and a world-class
University's cosmopolitan nature. Lee's extensive online photo tour is a cyberdestination for alumni around the world. |

In 1994, Lee and his grandmother, Ruth Priestley, booked passage on the Marco Polo for a cruise to Antarctica. Starting in Punta Arenas, Chile, they passed through the Beagle Channel, crossed the Drake Passage to the Antarctic Peninsula, cruised the Belligshausen and Amundsen Seas to Ross Island and McMurdo Station, then returned to Christchurch, New Zealand. Lee's detailed journal is accompanied by hundreds of photographs and extensive background materials. |

Lee went solo for his 1997 trip "down under". Beginning in Sydney, he took trains and busses cross-country to Melbourne and Adelaide, then rode the famous Ghan railroad to Alice Springs and Uluru, in the center of the Red Desert. |

Our major trip in 2004 was to Kauai, one of the Hawaiian islands. We went with Kristin's family, and spent a week
enjoying the lush "garden island." |
Kristin spent most of her childhood in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 1998, Lee and Kristin visited New Mexico together. Starting in Albuquerque, they drove to Acoma ("Sky City"), Mesa Verde National Park, and Taos. This was one of Kristin and Lee's first trips together, and was Lee's first visit to the southwestern United States. |
In 1996, Lee's friend Valerie Mates took him and their friend Wendy Ross on a tour of her home town, Manhattan, over a Memorial Day weekend. It was Lee's first visit to New York City, though hopefully not the last! |
In 2001, Kristin and I traveled to Ukraine to adopt our first child, Evan. We visited Kiev, of course, and Donetsk, where Evan was born. |
